What did I get out of the Summer of Love in 1967? Dancing anywhere anytime. Freeform expression. My dyslexia vanished.
So what did I and my partner do at the Summer of Love exhibit at the de Young Museum in San Francisco? Dance! And yes I was there in the ’60s—a native San Franciscan dancing my way through Golden Gate Park, the Fillmore, Avalon Ballroom, Ocean Beach. Just about everywhere we could wave our arms around, we did!
Jordan, my partner in the video below, danced around Vietnam—with a machine gun instead of a flower. Horrid time in his life but when he returned to the USA he battled PTSD with dancing and yoga and meditation. And moved to San Francisco… . So here we are 50 years later still bopping about. The exhibit goes till August 20, 2017 so you can trip the lights fantastic and do the hippie dance in the psychedelic black lights, too.

okay, that was totally cool. You still have the moves and Jordan is smooth! I would’ve loved to have seen the ’67 Summer of Love dance video.
Keep on dancing!
