“These boots are made for walking and that’s just what I’ll do. One of these days these boots are going to walk all over you.”
And boy did these boots walk all over Paris.
Shoes are always my most important decision when I travel. I bring one pair—they have to be great walking/hiking/dancing shoes that also look decent with a dress. The great shoe challenge! My latest perfect shoe that I’ve taken on my most recent international trips is a pair of Merrill black suede waterproof hiking boots that are almost weightless.
TIPS:
Cut your toenails—a mundane chore and not one on the top of the list as you prep for your trip but your feet will be much more comfortable.
Break new shoes in at home and not on the trip.
Socks should be fitting and not thin—this will prevent blisters as you march all over the countryside and cities.
I’ve figured out the packing puzzle! Read my latest post The Perfect Packing List.
